The new Molecular Geo- and Palaeobiology Labs have recently been finished. The core facilities are four new S1 - certified molecular labs with a total of 23 bench spaces on 130m2. The labs are fully equipped for molecular analyses in genomics and proteomics and are functionally divided into
- a Research Lab
- a GeoBioCenterLMU & Teaching Lab
- a Sample Preparation Lab
- a Multi-purpose / Geomicrobiology Lab

State Collection of Zoology
A modern molecular lab (S2) has been established at the State Collection of Zoology and is available for sequence techniques. The ZSM lab features a complete setup for single tube or 96-well DNA purification, PCR / cycle sequencing and cleanup. A QIAGEN BioRobot 3000 may aid in liquid handling processes, from DNA extraction to PCR pipetting.
