New composition of the executive board

Prof. Dr. Günther Heubl (Dept. Biology) has been elected as new executive board member by the ordinary members of the GeoBio-Center during this year's member meeting.Günther Heubl studied biology and chemistry at the LMU Munich. He also obtained his doctorate and habilitation at the LMU. After professorships at the Institute of Systematic Botany in Munich and in Koblenz he returned to the LMU in 1997. Günther Heubl's research interests comprise (among others) the temporal and spatial distribution of carnivorous plants, radiation of macaronesic plants and the biogeography of tropical lianas. Prof. Dr. Gerhard Haszprunar (Dept. Biology) and Prof. Dr. Gert Wörheide (Dept. Earth and Environmental Sciences) have been re-elected as executive board members of the GeoBio-Center.The GeoBio-Center thanks the previous board member Prof. Dr. Jörg Overmann, who started a new position in Braunschweig, for his strong encouragement during the last years.
